Watch Aaron Rodgers Help Sell Jets Tickets Despite Still Not Being on Field
The Jets opened the 21-day window for Aaron Rodgers to return from injured reserve Wednesday, less than three months after he tore his Achilles during his debut for the franchise back in Week 1 versus the Bills.
While he’s not quite ready to get back to game action, Rodgers is still finding ways to get more bodies in seats at MetLife Stadium ahead of New York’s Week 13 tilt with the Falcons.
In a video shared by the team’s social media accounts, Rodgers was seen working as a ticket sales rep for the Jets, answering phone calls and servicing the ticketing needs of fans.
Rodgers could be overheard encouraging a fan to make another trip to the stadium after they told the star quarterback that New York won last time they attended a game.
“So, you’re 1-0 going to games. Obviously, we need to find a way to get you back. How do we do that? Do we have to offer you some free tickets, or what?” joked Rodgers. “I don’t know if I’m authorized to do that just yet.”
Rodgers could later be heard jokingly thanking a fan for sticking with the team amid a disappointing season and “not sh-- talking us so much.”
Regarding a potential return for the 39-year-old, who turns 40 in December, Rodgers was seen throwing in practice this week, but said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show that he’s not yet at a point where he’s ready to play in a live game.
Although he’s not yet ready to return on Sunday, Rodgers has found plenty of ways to remain involved with the Jets’ day-to-day operations, including taking his talents to the ticketing department.
