Raiders to Hire Ex-Chargers Executive Tom Telesco as General Manager, per Report

In this story:
In their search for a new general manager, the Las Vegas Raiders appear prepared to bring in someone with whom they have intimate familiarity.
The Raiders are hiring former San Diego and Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco to the same post, according to a Tuesday afternoon report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Telesco, 51, led the Chargers' front office for 11 seasons. Under his stewardship, the team made playoff appearances in 2013, 2018 and 2022 and drafted franchise quarterback Justin Herbert.
As Tashan Reed of The Athletic pointed out, the John Carroll product will bring experience to an organization starting life under a first-time head coach in Antonio Pierce.

#Raiders appeared locked in on interim GM Champ Kelly and Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds last week, but got cold feet about pairing a first-time GM with first-time HC Antonio Pierce.

Las Vegas opened 2023 3-5, but improved after firing coach Josh McDaniels and finished 8-9.
The Chargers dismissed Telesco from his post on Dec. 15 along with coach Brandon Staley—in the aftermath, ironically, of a 63-21 loss to the Raiders on Dec. 14.
