Browns’ Myles Garrett Puts Ravens on Blast With Prediction for 2024 NFL Season

Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett needed just two words to describe how he believes his team will win the AFC North next season.

On Thursday, Garrett joined Sports Illustrated on Radio Row during Super Bowl LVIII media week and was asked what the Browns need to do to top the competitive division in 2024.

Without missing a beat, the five-time Pro Bowler said, “Be healthy. That’s it.”

Garrett’s succinct response could be considered a slight to his AFC North rivals and reigning division champs, the Baltimore Ravens, who went 13—4 in 2023 and advanced to the AFC championship game in the postseason.

The Ravens can expect many of their key roster pieces to return next season, including 2023 NFL MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson. Additionally, offensive coordinator Todd Monken will have a year of experience under his belt calling plays for Baltimore.

Despite Baltimore’s talent and the Cincinnati Bengals’ getting a healthy Joe Burrow back under center, Garrett and the Browns could make a sneaky push for the AFC North crown in 2024.

Garrett briefly spoke about how his team was able to overcome adversity in a grueling ’23 campaign which saw Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and running back Nick Chubb suffer season-ending injuries.

“It was a matter of commitment to the game and commitment to each other,” Garrett said. “Guys putting away their phones and wanting to know their brother and trying to become a true team and brotherhood. Stuff like that really made it a lot easier when guys started going down like Deshaun, Chubb, multiple guys out for a game or multiple games. Once you’ve been in the fire with those guys, you know you’ve been tested. You can be trusted. And that meant a lot going down the stretch.”

The Browns will have an offseason to prepare for next season’s highly anticipated division gauntlet. In the meantime, Garrett awaits the results of this year’s Defensive Player of the Year voting, to be revealed Thursday night. The Cleveland star recorded 14 sacks this season and could win the award for the first time in his career. However, Garrett is on a crowded ballot competing against other deserving stars such as T.J. Watt and Micah Parsons.
