Caleb Williams Aims to Spend Career With Bears, Eyes Tom Brady's Super Bowl Record

In all likelihood, the Chicago Bears, armed with the first pick in the 2024 NFL draft, will call USC quarterback Caleb Williams's name when they're on the clock on April 25.

If they do so, the Bears will be handing the keys to the franchise to a player who intends to be behind the wheel for years to come.

Williams, speaking to hosts and former NFL players Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder during a Friday appearance on The Pivot Podcast, expressed a desire to remain with the same team for 20 years, while also sharing his goal of chasing Tom Brady's NFL-record seven Super Bowl wins.

"I want to play at one place for 20 years, and chase one guy, No. 12." Williams said. "I want a place that loves ball. That’s all I’ve heard about Chicago so far."

Williams, 22, won the 2022 Heisman Trophy award while drawing comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers for his ability to extend plays and make off-schedule throws during three college seasons.

But Williams's desire to be loyal and one of the game's greatest might excite Bears fans even more than any outstanding throw he could make.

The Bears all but signaled their intentions of selecting Williams when they dealt starting QB Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick back in March.

The first round of the 2024 NFL draft begins at 8 p.m. ET on April 25 in Detroit.
