49ers' Robert Saleh Gaining Ground as Young Head Coaching Candidate

Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is an enormous reason why the 49ers' defense has been so dominant this season. It is that dominance and success of the team that has Saleh as one of the young head coaching candidates in the NFL.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero spoke to NFL executives, coaches, players and "others familiar with the search process" to corral a list of the annual young head coaching candidates in the NFL. Robert Saleh is one of the lead candidates for that list.
Ever since Sean McVay took over as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, bottom feeding franchises have been looking for the next young and rising coach. Or what most people call it, "the next Sean McVay". That is why teams like the Packers, Bengals and Cardinals hired their coaches.
Franchises are taking chances on younger, more innovated coaches than the same old dinosaurs that have been in the league for decades. Well with Saleh, he has some old school ways in him, but he doesn't get caught up in it.
He allows his ego to fuel him, but doesn't let it get in the way. Saleh is all about adaptability, which is why opposing offenses have struggled immensely to get anything going against the 49ers' defense. It is only natural that Saleh starts to gain popularity as a candidate for a potential head coaching position.
Teams that have renowned success tend to lose their coordinators because of the opportunities that are out there for them. Robert Saleh would make a phenomenal head coach. He's young, energetic, aggressive and intelligent. What player wouldn't want him as the head coach?
Just look at the camaraderie he has with his players whenever they get a stop. It truly is inspiring and uplifting for these players. We hear so much about the team chemistry with these players that we forget about the chemistry the players have with the coaches. It is that chemistry that losing franchises want. To inject that energy and become the spark that turns around the team.
Saleh has all the traits to be an NFL head coach with his charisma and ingenious schemes. If he is offered a position to become one, then it should fully be expected that he will take it. With the way the 49ers' defense has been trending, Saleh is practically a lock to be offered one.
