The final football game of the 2022 season is here with Super Bowl LVII.

I know, it is incredibly tragic. Sundays become nothing but emptiness after today with football being over. At least today will end with a highly anticipated matchup between the two elite teams in the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. This game should prove to be one where it'll satisfy our football hunger for the foreseeable future.

It doesn't get any better than having the best quarterback and MVP of the league in Patrick Mahomes go up against a monstrous defensive line in the Eagles. This is really where this game is going to come down to. The Chiefs have to be smart with how many shots they are going to take down the field. With such a vaunted pass rush and a strong secondary, the Eagles have the advantage if Mahomes wants to stand in the pocket.

Look at how the Eagles just obliterated the 49ers last week with their pass rush. They ended up knocking Brock Purdy out of the game, which essentially ended the game right then and there. The Chiefs have a much better offensive line and head coach with Andy Reid to circumvent that threat. And they have proven to be able to do so effectively in the past.

When the Chiefs played the 49ers back in October, the Chiefs used a ton of screens and quick passing to negate the upfield aggressive rush of San Francisco. It worked to perfection for the whole game as the elite 49ers' defense was whooped from start to finish. Now, the Eagles have a way better defensive line than the 49ers. It is loaded with All Pro and Pro Bowl caliber talent. They will be able to find a way around that at some point and some stretches.

But this is the best quarterback and head coach in the game here with Mahomes and Reid. I'm fully expecting several drives to look rough from them. Just have to give credit to how great a defensive line the Eagles have. And yet, it won't be enough. I compare this Super Bowl to the last one the Chiefs were in versus the Buccaneers. They played a deadly defensive line and got destroyed. Mahomes was running for his life. I think the Chiefs will have a perfect understanding of the Eagles and how to find success against their pass rush.

Plus, the Chiefs have a solid offensive line and aren't missing almost every starter there like they did in their last Super Bowl. I'm picking the Chiefs to win this game ever so slightly. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles can definitely put up points on their side of the ball. I'm just not confident with  the injured passing shoulder of Hurts after he missed so many of his receivers deep in the NFC Championship game. In the end, I'm siding with the greatness that is Mahomes and Reid.
