Deebo Samuel is poised for a big production day against the Steelers

Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, the San Francisco 49ers offense proved that they can be dominate without George Kittle putting up big numbers. The same is likely to happen this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since Joe Staley is out, rookie offensive tackle Justin Skule slides into the starting role.
Now unless the 49ers are wild, I’m sure they won’t put him on an island. Kyle Shanahan is sure to line up George Kittle and others next to Skule to provide aid. The Steelers are sure to test the sixth round rookie since he is the weakest point on the offensive line.
With Kittle being involved more with blocking and chipping, he won’t be the number one option for Jimmy Garoppolo.
That is why Deebo Samuel is poised to have a big production day against the Steelers. This is the game for Samuel to step up in a major way. With Kittle occupied on the line, he needs to answer the call this week and gash the Steelers defense. He already took a nice leap last week by scoring his first touchdown and connecting with Garoppolo on some nice throws.
The rapport that is being built between the two is strengthening week after week. Kyle Shanahan is also poised to have a field day with his play-calling to ensure that Samuel eats until his heart’s content. The Steelers don’t really have a threatening cornerback. Sure, there is Joe Haden who can cause some fits but I think Samuel will have the edge with him since Haden struggles with double moves.
I cannot overstate how great of a play designer and caller that Shanahan is. He creates plays to get an average reciever open. Now that he has Deebo Samuel, his creativity is going through the roof. His genius was put on display by the clinical play-calling last Sunday.
The only way Samuel doesn’t have a big production day is if Jimmy Garoppolo is having to rush his throws due to pressure. Other than that, Samuel shouldn’t have any speed bumps that slow him down for a big number day.
