Fantasy Football: Which 49ers player is a must start Sunday against the Steelers?

Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals saw multiple 49ers’ players explode in fantasy football. Given how great Kyle Shanahan’s play-calling was, it’s no surprise as to why multiple players had high scoring games. Earlier in the week, I advised that Raheem Mostert should be a waiver wire pick up.
Mostert just may be a viable option for you to start against a questionable Steelers defense in coverage. As we now get closer to Sunday’s week three matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, it’s time to start finalizing your lineup. There is also Deebo Samuel who is starting to rise up the charts.
With so many options to choose, which 49ers player is a must start in fantasy football?
The 49ers player who is a must start is quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. I know that the easy answer would be to say George Kittle, however I do not think he’ll have a huge receiving day. Remember, the San Francisco 49ers are without starting left tackle Joe Staley.
Rookie Justin Skule will make his debut start, so Kittle will spend a good portion giving aid to the left side. Not to mention the Steelers acquisition of Minkah Fitzpatrick who can hassle Kittle a bit.
Garoppolo is a must start because the Steeler's secondary is a fairly weak one. It’s why they went gave up a first round pick to acquire Fitzpatrick. They are lacking in sound defensive backs who can cover consistently. Rookie linebacker Devin Bush just might be their best coverage player, which is baffling.
Garoppolo is going to pick apart that defense and find the end zone multiple times. Depending on how Justin Skule is fairing, Shanahan just might let Garoppolo go for the home run play. Even if he doesn’t go deep, the amount of counter plays the 49ers offense will call will allow so many receivers to be open.
Deebo Samuel would be the next guy I would consider to start because his number will be called upon many times. He may also have to be Garoppolo's go-to receiver since Kittle will have an increase in blocking duties. Nevertheless, start Jimmy Garoppolo Sunday and watch your score skyrocket you to victory.
