How the 49ers can Clinch the NFC West Division Title in Week 15

The 49ers clinched a playoff berth last week and now get a chance to clinch the NFC West division title this week. Here are the two ways they can.

In this story:

The 49ers set themselves up to clinch a playoff berth last week thanks to their win against the Seahawks.

Once they accomplished that, they needed help from either the Giants or the Raiders. The Giants proved to be the supporting character in the 49ers' story after they defeated the Packers to make the 49ers clinching the playoffs official. Now, the 49ers have a prime opportunity going into Week 15 to clinch the NFC West division title.

How the 49ers can do that is with one of two ways. The first way, and simplest, is by defeating the Cardinals on Sunday. It should be easy enough for them to do so. I have zero doubt that the 49ers won't win that game, but then again, division games get weird. And Kyler Murray has been a thorn to the 49ers' side ever since he came into the league.

Should the worst come to fruition with the 49ers losing, then there is still hope for the 49ers to clinch the division. They would need the Rams to lose to the Commanders, which might be faint hope. Much like with the 49ers losing to the Cardinals, I don't see how the Rams would lose to the Commanders. The Rams are actually playing for something and are an underrated team.

Whereas the Commanders have mailed it in for weeks. So, the 49ers must not allow the worst to happen against the Cardinals, or they will likely not see themselves crowned as NFC West division champions in Week 15. A win against Arizona would not only crown them the division title, but it will only solidify their current standing as the No. 1 seed.

Momentum is on the 49ers' side right now, and the Cardinals aren't the team to halt that.
