Jimmy Garoppolo is a Finalist for Week 9 FedEx Air Player of the Week

Today, the NFL announced the San Francisco 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo is a finalist for this week’s FedEx Air Player of the Week award for his outstanding performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Garoppolo completed 28 of 37 attempts (75.7 percent) for 317 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions for a 136.9 passer rating in the 49ers’ close 28-25 win.
This is Garoppolo’s second nomination of the season, and if he wins, he’ll follow teammate Tevin Coleman who won the FedEx Ground Player of the Week last week. The 49ers just continue to pump out impressive top performances that are finally being recognized. It'll be tough for a player to stand out next week with the Seattle Seahawks coming to town, but anything can happen.

Speaking of the Seahawks, Russell Wilson is the other finalist who is challenging Garoppolo for this award, as is Miami Dolphins Ryan Fitzpatrick. Wilson had the most impressive stat-line with 29 of 43 completed passes (67.4 percent) for 378 yards, 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions for a 133.7 passer rating
As great as that performance was, Garoppolo's is by far the more impressive since he did it on a very short week. 49ers Faithful, it is time to let your voices be heard.
