NFC West News: Rams trade Marcus Peters to Ravens

The Los Angeles Rams have traded cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens for linebacker Kenny Young and a 2020 undisclosed draft pick.
It is a trade that comes at an interesting time since the Rams have been on a three game skid. Los Angeles also just put Aqib Talib on injured reserve, which has taken away some depth at cornerback. Trading away Peters is not as big of a blow as you would think.

He hasn't been the same top tier level cover guy that he was in his first couple of seasons. Other than the easy interception he reeled in from Jimmy Garoppolo, he had zero impact on the game. When we interviewed Rams hall of fame running back Eric Dickerson, he mentioned how Peters does his own thing.
Well now the Rams have told him he can do his own things in Baltimore. This is now the second time in two years that a team has traded him away. Now that Marcus Peters is no longer a Ram you have to wonder if they try to go after Jalen Ramsey.
With the Jacksonville Jaguars sitting at 2-4, they would at least be a little more open to doing so. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has been outspoken about his position that the team will not trade Ramsey under any circumstance.
While I have little doubt about his words, you just never know in this league. Things can change in a blink of an eye, so keeping an eye on the Rams' transactions will be interesting.
#Rams trade of Peters will open up about $5.5M in net cap space bringing them to be in the ballpark of $7.5M. Should open up other trade possibilities if they are still shopping

Los Angeles didn't stop at trading away Peters. They also acquired center Austin Corbett from the Cleveland Browns for an undisclosed draft pick. Clearly the Rams are trying everything they can before the season slips away from them.
After the beat down the San Francisco 49ers gave them, it had to have left them shook. I would not rule out that the Rams are done making trades. They have to do all they can in order to get back in the playoff race. We'll update you with anymore potential news break in the NFC west.
