Another Chicago Native for Offensive Line

In this story:
The Bears' offensive line health problems led GM Ryan Poles to seek a trade.
They have acquired guard Dan Feeney from the Miami Dolphins for a sixth-round pick according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic.
Like Bears veterans Cody Whitehair and Lucas Patrick, Feeney can play guard or center.
For the second straight year the Bears have brought in a guard from the area, as well. Last year it was Chicago area native Michael Schofield signing to play and he wound up starting five games. This time it is Feeney, a Sandburg grad from Orland Park who played at Indiana and then was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Feeney has played in 96 games with 64 starts and after spending his first four years with the Chargers he moved on two two seasons with the New York Jets before signing this year with Miami.
Feeney started with the Chargers and didn't miss a start his last three seasons. The last two seasons he has been a backup with five starts for the Jets in 2021 and two last year.
The Bears guard situation is a bit unclear because the extent of their injuries are not known, but starting left guard Teven Jenkins is out with what has been reported as calf injuries to each leg and right guard Nate Davis has missed most of the practices in training camp without an injury being specified.
Also, Patrick has an injury and has been out for about half of training camp. Whitehair, who moved to center this year with Jenkins taking his left guard spot, has a hand injury and hasn't been snapping, so he was moved to center.
Whitehair has been playing through the injury.
The other guard they've been using instead are second-year player Ja'Tyre Carter and the center is Doug Kramer.
Feeney hasn't been the most effective blocker in terms of Pro Football Focus grades.
He hasn't had an overall grade higher than 60.8 except in 2021, when he was at 75.9. He has allowed 19 sacks and 25 quarterback hits by PFF's count, and had 62% of his 4,156 plays at left guard. He had 33.9% at center.
Feeney's contract is for $3.25 million with $2 million guaranteed.
