The Matchup: The Bears look to close the preseason with a winning record after their first preseason loss in five tries coach under Matt Eberflus over two preseasons, 24-17 to Indianapolis. The Bills lost 27-15 to Pittsburgh last week  It's uncertain if QB Justin Fields and the first team offense will play for the Bears because of the injury situation with the first team offense, as left guard Teven Jenkins and right tackle Darnell Wright are injured, and center/guard Cody Whitehair and center/guard Lucas Patrick are coming off injuries. The Bears played only two starters last week, linebacker Jack Sanborn and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson.  WR Chase Claypool remains out injured, as well. Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, a former Bills player, is unlikely to be ready to play Saturday after sitting out since Aug. 3. Bills QB Josh Allen got in for three series last week and was down 14-0 before Buffalo's offense started moving it. They scored all 15 points in the fourth quarter with reserves playing.

Key Bills to Watch: The Bills have a backup QB battle going between former Bears QB Matt Barkley and Kyle Allen. Barkley has a preseason passer rating of 92.7, Kyle Allen 87.4 but Barkley has thrown three interceptions.  Buffalo has had trouble moving the ball on the ground in two games with 154 total rushing yards for a 3.3-yard average. No. 1 back James Cook has seven runs for 23 yards so far. Key roster battles include  linebackers Shaq Lawson, A.J. Epenesa and Dorian Williams vying for a starting or backup spot. Joel Wilson and vying for a fourth tight end spot Jace Sternberger. Former Cardinals receiver Andy Isabella is trying to make the team and in a commanding position. The offensive tackle backups are positions to watch after the team lost Brandon Shell to an abrupt retirement and Tommy Doyle to a season-ending knee injury.

Key Bears to Watch:  If Fields and the first team receivers play, it's an obvious focal point because they have been in game action only for three passes, two of them touchdowns.  DJ Moore had a 62-yard TD reception in the first game and Khalil Herbert a 56-yarder.  The Bears battle for backup quarterback could be of interest as rookie Tyson Bagent made a statement last week by leading a 17-play TD drive. QB Nathan Peterman led the offense to 10 points. Backup P.J. Walker has been highly ineffective in games so far and Eberflus said the battle is an open one despite Bagent's lack of any experience. Edge rusher is another position to watch for the Bears with Trevis Gipson, Terrell Lewis and Dominique Robinson trying to avoid being the odd man out in a roster battle for what could be two spots.

Of Note:  The Bills lost veteran defensive end Shane Ray for the season this past week due to a hamstring injury.  ... Buffalo committed 13 penalties in its last preseason game. ... First-round Bills pick Dalton Kincaid, a tight end, had three catches for 45 yards last week. ... Jordan Mims leads the Bills in rushing with 47 yards on 11 rushes. ... a preseason with only three pass attempts is unusual for Fields. He had 49 and 30 attempts in his first two preseasons. ... Bears DE Lewis is tied for the NFL lead in sacks in preseason with three.
