Bears Secondary Decimated by Injuries

In this story:
When a team gets blown out like the Bears in Sunday's 41-10 loss, they always hope to at least come away healthy to move on.
As Bears coach Matt Eberflus reminded, there are two games coming up in 11 days and the need to bounce back.
They might be doing it without many starters in their secondary.
During Sunday's game cornerback Jaylon Johnson suffered a hamstring injury after falling in the end zone and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson left for a while after a big hit with running back Isiah Pacheco, but then came back and later on left again.
They already didn't have safety Eddie Jackson due to a foot injury and very briefly lost safety Jaquan Brisker, resulting in rookie Quindell Johnson coming in, but Brisker returned. Slot cornerback Kyler Gordon is on injured reserve with a broken hand and backup slot Josh Blackwell played but was off the field in favor of Greg Stroman for a while.
In addition to all of that, middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was spotted going to the locker room with team personnel at one point.
Offensively, DJ Moore had a back injury but it wasn't thought to be serious.
So the injury report on Wednesday will be full of names.
So trying to guard one of the most explosive passing attacks in the league wasn't easy.
"It was a little bit difficult playing that skill," Eberflus said. "We lost some DBs today, got out of some of our (coverage) packages. That's what happens when you lose three corners. But other than that, you've just got to execute better."
Tight end Cole Kmet told reporters afterward it was just a bad loss overall.
"We just got our ass kicked," Kmet said. "Yeah. That was probably No. 1 (for butt kickings). I can't think of a game that I've had in a long time that looked like that."
They lost by the exact same score five games ago in Detroit in Week 17 of the 2022 season.
However, the injuries didn't stack up like in this one. And they couldn't come at a worse time considering the Bears have two weaker opponents coming up in those 11 days.
