First Bears Injury Report

In this story:
Considering the number of players injured throughout the latter portion of preseason, Wednesday's Bears injury report had to be considered a great success.
The only injured player who couldn't practice was backup linebacker Dylan Cole due to a hamstring injury.
Three key Bears were limited in what they did at practice. Safety Jaquan Brisker has a groin injury and was limited. Safety Eddie Jackson has an ankle injury and also was limited. Defensive end DeMarcus Walker was limited with a calf injury.
"I feel like I’m back to a hundred percent," Jackson said. "A lot of work rehabbing, getting back. So it feels good."
Jackson had a foot injury last year that ended his season and led to a long recovery but said he wasn't worried it was the same thing when he had the injury to his ankle.
"I thought it was an ankle because I kind of felt it immediately," he said. "Then when he fell and it rolled up, then it started to wear off. So kind of figured it was an ankle."
Brisker was more of a concern heading into Wednesday's practice because he missed more time. Maybe the biggest problem was getting everybody on defense back togetherr for the first time. Walker and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds had missed a major portion of training camp and preseason, as well.
"Everyone was flying around, you wouldn't even know that everyone was gone," Jackson said. "But that's how we prepare. With walk-throughs, we do a lot of emphasizing on that with walk-throughs, communication, make sure everyone is on point and making sure the game is the same way.
"It was a good day to start today and we just have to continue to build off of it."
Nowhere to be found on the injury report was wide receiver Chase Claypool, who had been out of practices with what was believed to be a hamstring injury. He had gone out before the first preseason game Aug. 12 and didn't play in any games. Claypool joined in at practices like the others.
Besides the injury issues, coach Matt Eberflus announced it's likely Nathan Peterman would be backup quarterback this week over undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent.
"Well, that's what we're looking at right now," Eberflus said. "We haven't made a final decision but that's where we're leaning to now for this first game, but we'll see where it goes during the course of the week and we certainly reserve the right to make any adjustments as we need to going forward."
