Braxton Jones Sidelined Indefinitely

In this story:
A Bears team struggling at all aspects has another challenge to face heading into a game in Kansas City against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs.
Left tackle Braxton Jones is out because of a neck injury and has been placed on injured reserve. Jones will miss at least four weeks.
Jones suffered the injury Sunday against Tampa Bay, according to coach Matt Eberflus.
It will be the first time Jones has missed a start.
Jones will be replaced by swing tackle Larry Borom, who has started at left and right tackle in the past.
"So, we got Larry, Larry Borom is in there," Eberflus said. "J.T. (guard Ja'Tyre Carter) could take some spots out there. We really feel good about him, the way he played last week inside. Certainly athletic enough to help us out there too. We'll see where it goes."
Borom has played extensively in his two previous seasons, with 17 total starts. Most were at right tackle. He has had 1,011 plays at right tackle and 85 at left tackle, as well as 62 at guard.
The preference, though, at this time is playing him at left tackle and leaving rookie right tackle Darnell Wright on the right side. Wright played both left and right tackle at Tennesee.
"There's certainly a thought there for sure," Eberflus said about moving Wright. "But when you're working with a first-year player, a lot of times you like to leave them in the same spot. But certainly that's been in conversation."
While Jones would be eligible to return after four weeks, it's not certain he'll be able to come back. Eberflus wouldn't deny Jones could be out for the year.
"We'll see where it is. We don't have timetables on it right now," Eberflus said. "That's where it is right now.
Jones currently is tied for the league lead with Jawaan Taylor of the Kansas City Chiefs in penalties with six. He is ranked 42nd among 71 tackles by Pro Football Focus' grading system but 13th overall ass blocking this year.
