Former Bears Tight End Had Suspected 'Seizure'

In this story:
Former Bears tight end Jimmy Graham has been attempting a comeback with his original team, the New Orleans Saints, but on Friday it apparently hit a stumbling block.
TMZ reported Graham was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Later, the situation was described by the Saints as a likely seizure and he was released by police before returning to the team Saturday.
"He was taken into custody by local authorities and transported to a local hospital for evaluation for what Dr. John Amoss believes to be a likely seizure and spent the night under medical supervision and testing," the Saints said. "Amos met Graham at the hospital and is overseeing his care at this time. He was released this morning and is with the team as they continue preparations for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers."
TMZ reported police said Graham was wandering in traffic Friday near a southern California resort. TMZ said police attempted to arrest Graham but he resisted.
Graham, 36, was also charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer, which, like being under the influence of a controlled substance, is a misdemeanor offense. TMZ reported the matter is under investigation by police.
The Saints are in Los Angeles to play the Chargers on Sunday.
Graham spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Bears and was instrumental in helping with the development of Bears tight end Cole Kmet. His contract expired after 2021 and the Bears did not attempt to bring him back under the new coaching staff. After being out of the game last year, he signed with the Saints this off-season. In the first Saints preseason game, Graham had a 10-yard reception and was in for 21 plays.
Graham has 713 NFL receptions for 8,506 yards with 85 TDs, including 64 receptions for 623 yards and 11 TDs with the Bears. He had 93 catches for 1,083 yards and five TDs in 2018 and 2019 with Green Bay.
