Surprising Cash Plays for Bears

In this story:
Sometimes the best insight into who a team is taking in the NFL Draft is by following the money.
Anyone betting on or taking bets on the draft might have more at stake and possibly some inside look at it all.
According to the Las Vegas oddsmakers, the favorite in most mock drafts on the internet is not the favorite to be take No. 9, the pick the Bears own.
The sportsbooks for Fan Duel, DraftKings and Bet365 all have Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter as the favorite to go No. 9, although they are not attaching the Bears specifically to the pick—meaning Carter at No. 9 is a winner whether the Bears trade down with another team. The Steelers and Texans were teams reported with interest in that ninth spot in recent weeks but not the only ones.
In each case, though, the favorite had a co-favorite at the same odds and it wasn't Paris Johnson Jr. or Peter Skoronski, two tackles many mock drafts see the Bears selecting.
Instead, all three sportsbooks have Tennessee tackle Darnell Wright going off at the same odds as Carter to be the ninth pick. At Fan Duel and Bet365, both are +300 as favorites while at Draft Kings they're +275.
- For Fan Duel, Skoronski is No. 3 at +350 with Johnson at +450.
- For DraftKings Johnson is third at +350 with Skoronski at +380.
- And at Bet365, Skoronski and Johnson are both at +350 behind the two favorites.
Various sites offer different types of lines on the draft and both Caesar's and BetOnLine.ag have betting by team for positions.
BetOnLine.ag is -200 for the Bears on an offensive lineman first in the draft and +190 for defensive line, while Caesar's is -170 for offensive line and +180 for defensive line.
The two differ on third position, with Caesar's at +700 for a defensive back and wide receiver at +750 for BetOnLine.ag.
