Bengals WR John Ross Visits Andy Dalton in Texas

The two played together for three seasons (2017-19)

CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver John Ross visited an old friend on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old caught up with Dallas Cowboys quarterback and former teammate Andy Dalton in Texas.

Ross played basketball with Dalton and his family. Andy's wife JJ posted a video of the action on Instagram (watch video below).

Both Ross and Dalton will be free agents in March.

Ross' time with the Bengals has likely come to an end. He appeared in just three games this season, finishing with two receptions for 17 yards.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor went away from Ross early in the year and the former first-round pick never got another opportunity.

Dalton appeared in 11 games in his first season with the Cowboys. He became their starting quarterback following Dak Prescott's season-ending ankle injury in Week 5.

Dalton completed 64.9% of his passes for 2,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The Cowboys were 4-5 in his nine starts.

Ross' tenure in Cincinnati didn't go as planned, but he'll get a chance to show he can be an effective player elsewhere.

Dalton, 33, may re-sign with the Cowboys and be Prescott's backup. He could also look elsewhere in hopes of competing for a starting job.

Dalton and Ross are clearly good friends. Maybe the two will reunite in a few months when free agency begins.

Teams can start negotiating with pending free agents on March 15.
