Russell Wilson to Sign One-Year Deal With Pittsburgh Steelers

The veteran is Pittsburgh bound.

CINCINNATI — The Steelers are signing former Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson. He made the announcement on Twitter/X.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that it is a team friendly deal. He's expected to compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting job next season.

Wilson completed nearly 67% of his passes for Denver last season, finishing with 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. The fit makes a ton of sense.

Pittsburgh finished 10-7 last season, despite not having stability at quarterback. Instead of staying pat, they land a nine-time Pro Bowler that was solid last season.

The AFC North is already the toughest division in the NFL. The veteran isn't perfect, but the Steelers have a strong culture and they just need competent quarterback play. There's no reason why Wilson shouldn't be an upgrade for the Steelers.
