Peter Schrager Names Sam Hubbard NFL's Most Underrated Player

"Hubbard has been an All-Pro this season," Schrager said on Good Morning Football. "He's been fantastic against the run and also on defense and in Sunday's game against the Seahawks. I'm watching this thing, who closes out the game? It's Hubbard, and it's Trey Hendrickson, and it's B.J. Hill, and it's DJ Reader, their front four as always. Look at Hubbard's stats from Sunday against the Seahawks. A game that we haven't really talked much about. It was a huge win for Cincinnati. Hubbard had seven tackles, a sack, five quarterback hits, and nine quarterback pressures. Sam Hubbard we see you, we know you don't get the same acclaim as everyone else. But he is the most underrated player this season, that I believe."

Hubbard's offering plenty of glue to keep this team's defense rowing in the right direction as the bye week continues.

Lou Anarumo has done a nice job limiting Hubbard and the entire defensive line's snaps. It was a big reason why he could lean on them more in the final minutes of Sunday's game when the defense needed them most.

A fresher Hubbard is on pace to play 895 snaps this season, his lowest since missing multiple games due to injury in 2020.
