Halftime Observations: Joe Burrow and the Bengals Lead Seahawks 14-10

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Bengals lead the Seahawks 14-10 at halftime.
Joe Burrow is playing great and the offense allowed the team to take control of the game in the second quarter. Here are our halftime observations:
Slow Start on Defense
The Seahawks scored a touchdown on the opening possession of the game. They only faced one third down on a drive that lasted 11-plays and took 6:22 off the clock.
Geno Smith completed all five of his passes for 51 yards. Kenneth Walker ran for 19 yards, including a one-yard touchdown.
Offense Takes Flight
Burrow and the Bengals' offense answered on the ensuing possession. They drove 65 yards on 13 plays and tied the game when Burrow found Tyler Boyd for an 8-yard touchdown.
Burrow completed 9-of-11 passes for 58 yards on the opening drive. They picked up right where they left off last week against the Cardinals.
Their hot start continued on their second possession. The defense forced a 3-and-out, then the offense went 73-yards in just seven plays and Burrow found Andrei Iosivas for a 3-yard touchdown.
Joe Burrow's Hot Start
Burrow completed 18-of-22 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. He completed passes to nine different receivers, including two rookies: Chase Brown and Iosivas. Burrow completed 15-straight passes at one point.
Ja'Marr Chase leads the way with five catches for 67 yards. Boyd has six receptions for 31 yards.
Defense Responds
The Bengals' defense struggled on the Seahawks first possession, but the responded by forcing back-to-back punts on the next two drives to get the ball back to a red hot offense.
Second-year cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is giving D.K. Metcalf fits. He drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on the star wide-out and held him to just one catch for 12 yards.
The Bengals Will Win If...
They continue to keep the Seahawks defense off balance. Burrow is playing at a high level and spreading the ball all over the field.
Cincinnati gets the ball to start the second half. If Burrow and the Bengals can extend the lead early in the third quarter, it could set the tone for the rest of the game.
The defense has done a good job after an ugly opening possession. If they could force a turnover or two, it could make all the difference in the second half.
