    Quick hits: Quarterly breakdown of the Bills 16-10 loss to Pats

    Buffalo falls to 3-1 after loss to division rival

    1st Quarter: Patriots defense keeps it up

    • On Buffalo's first drive of the game, Josh Allen is intercepted by Devin McCourty. It is Allen's 4th pick of the season.
    • Pats Answer: Off of the turnover, the Patriots drive 50-yards down the field and Brandon Bolden rushes in for a 4-yard touchdown. Stephen Gostkowski misses the extra point, 6-0 Patriots
    • It gets worse...on the Bills next drive, they are stalled by New England. Corey Bojorquez's punt is blocked and recovered for a touchdown by Matthew Slater, 13-0 Patriots
    • Allen is intercepted, again. This time, while looking for Zay Jones, he is picked off by J.C. Jackson

    2nd Quarter: Brady makes a mistake

    • The Bills capitalize off of a rare mistake from Tom Brady who throws his first interception of the season to Micah Hyde.
    • The Bills respond with a 52-yard drive, Stephen Hauschka kicks a 46-yard field goal. 13-3 New England
    • Before halftime, the Bills get back into field goal territory, but Hauschka misses a 49-yard field goal as time expires

    3rd Quarter: Allen breaks through

    • The Bills cap off a 75-yard drive with an Allen 1-yard touchdown on 4th down. It is the first offensive touchdown the Patriots have given up this season. 13-10 Patriots
    • Momentum stalls: Allen throws his 3rd interception of the game, again to Jackson.
    • Off of the turnover the Patriots drive 38-yards down the field
    • Buffalo defense stands strong: New England is held to a field goal, 16-10 Patriots 

    4th Quarter: Allen leaves after helmet-to-helmet hit

    • The Bills start the 4th quarter with the ball and Allen is injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit by New England's Jonathan Jones. He would leave the game after being evaluated for a head injury.
    • Backup quarterback, Matt Barkley enters the game and drives the Bills down the field to the New England 3-yard line. Buffalo opts to go for it on fourth down and Barkley fails to connect with Zay Jones
    • After five punts, the Bills had a chance to take the lead, trailing by six points.
    • With 1:27 left in the game, on 3rd and 9, Barkley's pass is intercepted by Jamie Collins
