Getting ready to play a "home game'' in Detroit to take on the Cleveland Browns (3-6) in Week 11, due to a Buffalo blizzard? Oh, and as part of a "Motor City Double-Header''? That's a change.
Trying to stage a Thursday practice while dealing with a rash of illnesses? Yup. That forces a change.
“There are not enough bodies to have a full practice,'' said Bills coach Sean McDermott, who announced that five players - Reggie Gilliam, Cam Lewis, Matt Milano, Jordan Phillips and Tim Settle - “came in (to team HQ) today with an illness.''
Add to that an assortment of high-profile guys dealing with their own issues, and Thursday has the feel of a "Let's-just-get-through-it'' kinda day.
Some help is on the way, though, as the team claimed old pal A.J. Klein off waivers from Chicago and placed receiver Jake Kumerow on Injured Reserve.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen (nursing that elbow problem) was limited, with Tremaine Edmunds, Greg Rousseau, Von Miller and Rodger Saffold among those who, due to injury or rest, did not work.
Can the right number of Bills get healthy before they serve as "the home team'' on Sunday in Detroit, a location forced upon them due to the Buffalo blizzard?
After the two straight losses, Buffalo sits in third place in the AFC East ... and that doesn't sit well with a team with Super Bowl plans.
“Big picture, We’re 6-3,'' Allen said. "We’re not going to let us end and tear us apart in the locker room and we’re going to try and play some good football moving forward,”
