LOOK: Bills' Damar Hamlin Special Guest on 'The Masked Singer'
Less than a month after suffering from cardiac arrest in the field of play, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is going from what was a near tragedy on Monday Night Football to a similarly big stage in the music/TV industry.
Hamlin was a special guest at a taping for FOX's "The Masked Singer" on Tuesday night, per reports and obtained pictures from TMZ.
Sporting his charity on his hoodie and shorts, Hamlin stood alongside Hollywood star and show host Nick Cannon.
"The Masked Singer" continues to be a successful and popular program for FOX, which gives Hamlin the platform he needs to use his near-death experience for good.
Along with raising millions for his charity, the 24-year-old recently began "Damar Hamlin's Three For Heart CPR Challenge," which is aimed at raising awareness for CPR.
Hamlin made his first public comments in a social media message on Saturday, thanking everyone that has aided him during his recovery.
However, despite his upcoming star-studded appearance on a popular show and the consistent work to raise awareness and money for his charity, Hamlin still has a "lengthy recovery” ahead of him.
"Despite being out of the hospital, Damar still has a lengthy recovery," Hamlin's friend and business parter Jordon Rooney said. "Damar still requires oxygen and is having his heart monitored regularly. He has visited with the team a few times but he still gets winded very easily."
While a long recovery is usually certain after a life-threatening health scare, Hamlin is quickly picking himself back up and taking advantage of the opportunities in front of him.
FOX will air season nine of "The Masked Singer" on Wednesday, Feb 15.
