Bills Reveal Depth Chart, 1st Look at Projected Starters

Though the first release of the depth chart is subject to change, the Buffalo Bills have given fans the first look at what they could see on the field come Week 1.

The Buffalo Bills revealed their first depth chart Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s preseason opener at home against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Bills have 90 players listed on the current depth chart, though this number will obviously have to be trimmed down to 53 ahead of Week 1 against the New York Jets.

Here’s a look at the depth chart:

It’s important to note that this depth chart is subject to change. Many of the notable position battles appear to remain undecided, especially with three preseason games still to play.

The middle linebacker competition between Tyrel Dodson and Terrel Bernard has been one to note, but neither one has the edge on the current depth chart. Bernard and Dodson are both listed as the starter with a slash between their names, implying that the team is figuring out who will fit best to replace Tremaine Edmunds. The same thing goes for the starting slot receiver spot, as Deonte Harty and Khalil Shakir are both listed as the starter.

However, we have our first glimpse at where some of Buffalo’s rookie could land once Week 1 rolls around. First-round tight end Dalton Kincaid is currently listed behind Dawson Knox on the depth chart, while second-round offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence is the backup at right guard behind Ryan Bates, for now.

It’s also been speculated that the Bills could go with a committee approach at running back this season. But for now, James Cook is listed as the starter ahead of Damien Harris.

Buffalo’s preseason opener against the Colts kicks off at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
