Bills WR Gabe Davis Lands With New York Giants in Free Agency Mock Draft

In a 2024 free agent mock draft, Buffalo Bills receiver Gabe Davis gets to keep blue but changes his address to the New York Giants.

In any event, Josh Benjamin of CBS Sports seems to believe that Gabe Davis is destined to play for a blue New York team next season.

Benjamin put a spin on free agent projections, setting up a drafting format that sent Davis, the current Buffalo Bills receiver, to the New York Giants with the 17th overall pick. While most free agency primers have the Giants trying to build their offensive, especially with franchise quarterback Daniel Jones coming off a season-ending injury, the mock notes New York's active lack of big play potential.

"The Giants can't afford to let any of their QBs take snaps behind their current O-line again," Benjamin writes. "But they also desperately need more juice out wide. Davis is mercurial but explosive, offering ridiculous speed on the perimeter."

Davis is set to hit the free agency circuit for the first time in his career with his rookie contract expiring. While the Bills should no doubt be assisted by the recent salary cap expansion surplus (a record $30 million-plus addition was announced on Friday), Davis' deep gains might've priced him out of Western New York's range.

Four seasons into his NFL tenure, Davis has amassed 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns, adding an additional 474 and six respectively in the postseason. Buffalo will likely dedicate a little extra attention when it comes to keeping Davis around, as he's one of the original pieces of the team's run of prosperity in the new decade.

Those efforts, however, ensure that he'll have his share of suitors beyond Orchard Park, and the Giants will more than likely throw their hat into the ring.

The 2024 NFL year will officially kickoff on March 13.
