Bills' Josh Allen Rips Stefon Diggs Reporting: 'Blown Out of Proportion!'

"I love him. That's my guy," Josh Allen says of Bills buddy Stefon Diggs. "The media has blown this so far out of proportion ...''

We're a biased here, so we stand firm in believing that the reason there is a fuss surrounding Buffalo Bills superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs is because ... Diggs created a fuss.

Having said that, we appreciate and applaud Josh Allen for attempting to run a misdirection play regarding the blame for the storylines following Diggs having missed the first day of mandatory minicamp earlier this offseason.

"Let it go!'' the Bills quarterback and team leader is saying, and that, we can do. ... though what Diggs did is as real as what fans and media personalities did in speculating about what could have caused this absence. Some, including Robert Griffin III, even suggested it could have something to do with his "bromance'' relationship with Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

During an appearance on Bussin' With The Boys, Allen was asked about the Diggs "situation.'' ... with Josh rather insisting it's not a "situation'' at all.

"I love him. That's my guy," Allen said. "The media has blown this so far out of proportion ... We're not playing a game for four months. He doesn't show up for one day. ... [The media] is still talking about it. Let it go."

We'll not defend the zany rumors about what it all meant when Diggs' absence lead Bills head coach Sean McDermott to react by saying he was "very concerned" about the situation. We don't defend the speculation about a trade or about money (we've explained how that is not likely in play here). We continue to believe this is about "involvement in the offense'' ... and with all due respect to Allen, if Diggs would simply say that - rather than posting goofy and cryptic slogans on Twitter - trust us, everybody would "let it go.''

Diggs did return to minicamp the very next day. And it seems he is now prepared to enter his fourth season with the Bills. ... with the team anticipating no "funny business'' and with Josh Allen pledging the same. ... after an offseason in which, frankly, the quarterback volunteered himself up as a shield for Diggs' decision-making.
