Bills Claim Ex Colts DE Kameron Cline Off Waivers

Former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kameron Cline gets a shot with the Buffalo Bills after entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota in 2020.

Fresh off of a successful draft haul and two new free agent signings, the Buffalo Bills are adding another new face to the fold.

The Bills have claimed former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kameron Cline off of waivers, the team announced Friday. The 25-year-old now gets another shot with a new team after entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota in 2020.

Cline appeared in five games across three seasons with the Colts, totaling three tackles. Last season, he started off on Indy's practice squad before eventually signing to the active roster on Dec. 31. He played eight snaps and recorded his only tackle of the season in the 17-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 20.

Cline now has a a chance to make the 53-man roster, especially since the Bills didn't invest a ton of 2023 draft stock in the defensive front, giving him less rookie competition to go up against. However, it's anyone's guess how the roster will shape out as offseason programs tread on, as Cline is far from guaranteed a spot despite having three years of experience in the NFL.

But should he make the cut, Cline could serve as a depth piece on the edges behind Von Miller, Greg Rousseau, Shaq Lawson and Boogie Basham.
