Bills Chasing Chiefs, Bengals in SI's Post-Draft Power Rankings

Sports Illustrated has released new post-draft power rankings and the Buffalo Bills land right near the top of the heap.

The three-time defending AFC East champion Buffalo Bills look to build on their 2022 playoff run after an offseason full of roster moves and additions, including the arrival of six rookies through the 2023 NFL Draft. Rookie minicamp is about to begin and it's an exciting time of possibilities around the franchise.

Now that the dust has settled on post-NFL Draft rosters, Sports Illustrated has released new power rankings and the Bills land at No. 4.

The Bills seriously upgraded their offense on multiple fronts and added a ton of physicality. That’s not just true about the second-round pick, guard O’Cyrus Torrence, but almost every one of their offensive players has an edge. First-rounder Dalton Kincaid is a tight end–wide receiver hybrid. Justin Shorter, the wide receiver out of Florida, is also massive and is going to be a problem for smaller defensive backs.

The Bills made some changes this offseason on their hunt for their first-ever Super Bowl title, highlighted by coach Sean McDermott taking over the defense with defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier taking a leave of absence. While the Bills didn't add one of the top-end receiver prospects in the draft, they did use their first-round pick on Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid, whose elite receiving skills could help open up the Bills offense early in his career

Buffalo remains as a top contender to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. The Bills have major conference competition in the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, who slide in right above Buffalo in the rankings at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively.

However, it is the Philadelphia Eagles who take the No. 1 spot in the rankings after drafting Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round and trading for Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift.

"The Eagles appear to be the best all-around team in the NFL right now," SI wrote

Oddsmakers don't agree, giving the Chiefs the best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

Nothing stokes a season more than an Eagles team trying to usurp the champion Chiefs and a Bills team on their tail with new weapons to utilize. And the fun is just beginning …
