Bills Mock Draft: Quentin Johnston Helps Form New Elite WR Trio

In this mock draft, the Buffalo Bills add an elite receiver to an already stacked offense, pairing Quentin Johnston with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

By now, people might be getting a bit worn out with the number of mock drafts being released as the big night quickly approaches. However, with the draft now officially one week away, they'll likely only ramp up.

With more and more reports coming out of what teams like which prospects, some teams remain hard to peg down in the first round - especially the Buffalo Bills. They could go several different routes with the No. 27 pick, from trading down to adding a key piece to an already stacked roster.

In the latest mock draft from PFF, the Bills go down the latter route. Rather than trading down, they land a potential steal after selecting TCU Horned Frogs receiver Quentin Johnston with their first-round pick.

"This is one of those 'We didn’t think he’d be there' picks," PFF wrote. "It may not be the most glaring need on the Bills roster, but Johnston gives the Bills a three-deep at receiver that can go toe-to-toe with the rest of the AFC."

The Bills are certainly not lacking offensive production, as they had the second best scoring offense in the NFL last season at 28.4 points per game. Leading the way alongside quarterback Josh Allen was the receiver duo of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

Diggs and Davis were Allen's favorite targets last season, combining for 2,265 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns on 156 receptions. Despite that dominance, though, the Bills might want to make it a deadly trio of receivers.

That is where Johnston would come in, as the TCU product burst onto the scene in a big way in 2022. His final season in Fort Worth saw Johnston bring in 60 receptions for 1,069 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Star receiver duos, and even trios, are the name of the game in a loaded AFC. From Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on the Miami Dolphins to the Cincinnati Bengals' three-headed monster of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.

When the Bills are on the clock with the No. 27 pick, they have the opportunity to draft for "luxury" due to a roster without any glaring holes. If Johnston is said luxury, the Bills offense would only get that much better - and make life even easier for Allen and company.
