The Buffalo Bills have many directions they can go once the 2023 NFL Draft begins in April.

While certain areas like the offensive line and secondary are arguably the positions that need to be addressed the most, Buffalo can take some swings on the best player available when they pick late in the first round at No. 27.

But in NFL.com's updated three-round mock draft that was released Monday, the Bills are playing aggressive by making a first-round trade with the Seattle Seahawks to move up to No. 20. This scenario sees the Bills trading away a third- and fourth-round pick along with No. 27 to move up seven spots to No. 20.

And with the pick, the Bills select USC Trojans star receiver Jordan Addison.

Here's what the site had to say about the selection and why it makes sense for the Bills:

Josh Allen needs a legitimate deep threat to stretch out defenses, which would also help the team's running game. With Addison still on the board, Bills GM Brandon Beane climbs seven spots, giving up three 2023 picks (a first-, third- and fourth-rounder) to grab the former Biletnikoff Award winner.

Addison was the pass-catching star for a USC offense that featured Heisman-winning quarterback Caleb Williams this past season. Despite missing some time, Addison still finished with a 59 catches for 875 yards and eight touchdowns, six of which came in the first four games of the season.

Addison also won the Biletnikoff Award when he was with the Pitt Panthers in 2021. The award is given annually to the best receiver in college football. and it's hard to argue that Addison wasn't. In 2021 at Pitt, he was fourth in the nation in receiving yards (1,593), sixth in catches (100) and was tied for first in receiving touchdowns (17).

Here are Buffalo's picks for the rest of the mock:

Round 2

- No. 59: Steve Avila, OG, TCU

Round 3

- No. 91 pick was traded to Seattle in this scenario
