Georgia CB Kamari Lassiter Says It Would Be 'Pretty Awesome' To Play For Bills

A potential first-round pick has his eyes on the Buffalo Bills.

There's still nearly two months to wait and plenty of picks to make before the Buffalo Bills come up to pick at No. 28 overall in the NFL Draft, but it feels like one player is fated to come to Western New York in one way or another.

That player is none other than Georgia cornerback Kamari Lassiter, a likely Day 2 pick who could sneak into the first round. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this week, the Bulldogs star said it would be "pretty awesome" to play in Buffalo, per Bills reporter Maddy Glab.

That's nice and all, but why does Lassiter have his eyes on Buffalo specifically? As it turns out, one of the latest additions to the Bills' coaching staff is to thank for that.

Earlier this offseason, the Bills hired Jahmile Addae to be their new cornerbacks coach. While Addae was most-recently the Miami Hurricanes' secondary coach, he was Georgia's defensive backs coach before that in 2021. That was also Lassiter's freshman season, so naturally, Addae left a lasting impression on the young corner, so much so that he referred to Addae as a "great coach."

There's still a long way to go before Lassiter enters the NFL, but if he does indeed wind up in Buffalo, it would be quite the full-circle moment for him.
