Three Bills Matchups We Wish Were on 2023 Schedule

The Buffalo Bills will have to wait until the postseason to potentially face these intriguing teams.

Last week, the Buffalo Bills learned their full 2023 schedule, a slate that, in addition to the three other AFC East teams, will feature matchups with the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys.

Still, there are a few teams not on the 2023 schedule that would have been intriguing matchups for Josh Allen and the Bills. Here's three:

San Francisco 49ers

Given the amount of difficult opponents already on Buffalo's schedule for 2023, it's probably a good thing from the perspective of trying to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC that the Bills won't face the 49ers during the regular season. But regardless of who is under center, coach Kyle Shanahan's squad has become one of the best measuring sticks in the league. Perhaps we'll see a Bills-49ers matchup in Super Bowl LVIII.

Baltimore Ravens

There are so many Super Bowl contenders in the AFC that the Ravens almost feel like they are flying -- no pun intended -- under the radar. But if Lamar Jackson and Odell Beckham Jr. stay healthy, the Ravens could certainly emerge as one of the top teams in the sport, especially if new offensive coordinator Todd Monken opens up the vertical passing game. Again, this is another matchup that could ultimately take place in the postseason.

Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson made -- as Joe Davis put it -- "the catch of his life" on 4th and 18 to help the Vikings eventually win 33-30 in overtime at Orchard Park in Week 10 last season. Perhaps the Vikings will come back down to earth after going 13-4 in coach Kevin O'Connell's first season, but a rematch of one of 2022's best games would certainly be appointment viewing.
