Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs Shuts Down Trade Rumors Again, Gives Warning: 'Tread Lightly'
Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs is already having to deal with the frustrations that naturally occur as his team continues to lose games and play poor football. An unrivaled competitor, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wants to win more.
But on top of that, Diggs is having to repeat himself for the millionth time that his commitment to the Bills is unwavering despite new trade speculation that his brother and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs may or may not have started.
"I have said the same thing over and over," Stefon Diggs said Thursday. "So when you draw a conclusion as to how I feel in my foreseeable future here, I have never said anything but: I’m a Buffalo Bill. I give it everything I got. I’m a professional, and I treat this game as such.”
Following Monday night's brutal 24-22 to the Denver Broncos at home, Trevon tweeted "Man 14 Gotta get up outta there," essentially calling for his brother to find another team. He followed this up with what appeared to be a not-so-subtle shot at Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
"Let’s not forget, he didn’t start going off till bro got there," Trevon tweeted.
Unsurprisingly, this helped revive drama that started in the offseason when Stefon missed OTAs and got busy on social media as well with a few cryptic tweets. Rumors about his unhappiness with the Bills dominated headlines prior to the preseason, and left many wondering if a trade was on the horizon.

With this season's trade deadline already passed, the Bills and general manager Brandon Beane will have to wait till the offseason if they have an outrageously sudden change of heart, which won't happen. While Diggs remains arguably the best receiver in the NFL, his four-year $96 million contract will be tough to trade away anyways. He's staying in Buffalo for the foreseeable future barring a colossal turn of events.
Regardless, Trevon's tweets instantly stirred the pot.
He tore his ACL earlier this season, which in turn gives him more time to watch his brother's games. Stefon clarified that he doesn't speak for his brother, but that he understands Trevon's tweets were coming from a guy who loves football and just wants the best for his older sibling since Buffalo continues to fall further out of the Super Bowl contender conversation.
"I haven't had a personal conversation with him," Stefon Diggs said. "My brother is watching football right now. He's not playing too much. Obviously, he's coming from more of a fan perspective, but that is my family."
Stefon made sure to extend a warning to those that want to speak negatively about his brother despite that he's probably not the happiest with his tweeting decisions.
"I handle my family with the utmost respect, and I always hope that people treat it that way. So, when people speak of my family, have a level of integrity as well, because I feel like if it was another family member or somebody else, obviously people kind of handle things however they want. But tread lightly when you're talking about my family."
Diggs and the Bills will need to move past the recent frustrations if they want to turn their season around and make the playoffs.
The Bills (5-5) host the New York Jets (4-5) on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. CT.
