NFL Mock: Buffalo Bills Draft 'High-Flying' Weapon For Josh Allen

Drafting a receiver has been a popular pick for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills and it was no different in ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller's seven-round mock draft.

Few picks have been more popular for the Buffalo Bills in mock drafts than them drafting Texas receiver Adonai Mitchell.

That didn't change in ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller's mock draft, as he had the Bills drafting the 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver with their first-round pick in his mock draft. Along with having a chance to immediately become the Bills' No. 2 receiver, Miller noted he has the potential to one day become quarterback Josh Allen's top option if or when Stefon Diggs goes elsewhere.

"Let's maintain this high-flying Buffalo offense around quarterback Josh Allen with Mitchell, who would start out as a WR2 but could eventually become the WR1," Miller writes. "Mitchell is a 6-3 vertical threat with 4.33 speed. He had 11 touchdowns and just one drop last season, and he could be the deep threat the team lost in Gabe Davis -- but with more consistent hands."

After being buried on the Georgia Bulldogs' depth chart in his first two collegiate seasons, Mitchell made the most of his opportunity after transferring to the Longhorns for the 2023 season. He had 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns, leading to him earning the Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Year and the All-Big 12 Second Team.

Mitchell also tested well at the NFL Scouting Combine, running a 4.34 40-yard and he had a 91 athleticism score by Next Gen Sports, which was fourth among receivers. He also received a prospect grade of 6.38, projecting him to become a plus starter.

If the Bills are as high on Mitchell as the rest of the draft community, then he would be a slam dunk for them and Allen. With his combination of size and speed, he'd add another dimension to the Buffalo offense it has been missing and be Allen's No. 1 receiver for the foreseeable future.

In the second round, Miller had Buffalo drafting Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa. In his last two seasons, he's had three interceptions.
