'Eat A G**D*** Snack!' Rex Ryan Advises Rodgers' Jets on 'Hard Knocks'

Bills ex coach Rex Ryan thinks the New York Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers should embrace being this summer's team for the HBO "Hard Knocks" ... except when he doesn't.

There are some major challenges with being a "hot-take guy" in the media spotlight. Among those: Trying to keep straight which "hot take" is which so as to not contradict what you already got "hot" about.

Enter old friend Rex Ryan, the former Buffalo Bills coach, who is never shy about offering an opinion. And what does he think about the New York Jets being "forced" to be on HBO's "Hard Knocks''?

"I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be freaking great," Ryan recently told the New York Post. "Aaron Rodgers is extremely confident in himself. Yeah, he’s different, but so what? He embraces it. He ain’t a guy that is going to run from anything. He could care less. He’s going to be him and I think that’s great."

Good theory. Except that's in direct conflict with what the (very "different") Rodgers himself said about the Jets being tabbed. Said the generally-grumpy Rodgers: "There's a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, a lot of expectations for us, so they forced it down our throats and we gotta deal with it."

No offense, coach Ryan, but ... Does that sound like the curmudgeon Rodgers is "embracing'' this?

Ryan, now an NFL analyst for ESPN, was the coach of the Jets when they were on the show in 2010. It is valid to say that he "embraced" it then. ... probably hamming it up on purpose for the cameras. You know, "Let's go each a g**d**** snack!" ... Right?

Frankly, it fit Rex. He was theatrical. What about these Jets? Ryan insisted the 2023 Jets will "kick a**" regardless of the distraction issue. So that's that, right? "Embrace it!'' "Eat a snack!" "Kick a**!" Right?

"No coach wants to do 'Hard Knocks,'" Ryan also told the Post. "Nobody wants to do it."

Oh. So ... both takes. All takes. Every take. Whatever. Let's go eat a snack.
