WR Josh Reynolds Reveals Why he Chose to Sign with Broncos

Josh Reynolds is "hyped" to be in Denver and recently shared why he chose to sign with the Broncos.

On the heels of trading away Jerry Jeudy, the Denver Broncos signed veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds last week. Reynolds was a fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams back in 2017, where he played out his rookie contract.

Reynolds signed with the Tennessee Titans as a free agent in 2021. Later that season, the Titans promptly traded him to the Detroit Lions, where he spent the last two-and-a-half years and added some shine to his name.

The upstart Lions defied expecations in 2023, drawing the scrutiny of the NFL as Dan Campbell's squad burned through the NFC all the way to the NFC Championship Game. The offense, which featured Reynolds, was a big reason for Detroit's success.

In his first interview since joining the Broncos on a two-year, $9 million deal, Reynolds revealed to the team website what drew him to the Mile High City.

“I’ve always been an admirer of [Head] Coach [Sean] Payton," Reynolds told Sydney Jones. "Seeing him with the Saints for so long, I just love his creativeness, and I know he’s going to put great people around the facility. I’m just looking forward to getting to work with him.”

Reynolds, 29, went on to share how "hyped" he is to be joining Payton in Denver and that he hopes to contribute to some victories. For those who aren't familiar with Reynolds' game, he did the best he could to describe his style and what he brings to the table as a receiver.

“I’m smooth. I’m not a big—that’s a tough question," Reynolds said. "I’d say I’m more smooth. I’m on the smoother side, but you’ve got a playmaker for sure and hopefully a guy to help win.”

Entering Year 8, Reynolds brings 220 receptions for 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns to the table. Last year in Detroit, he caught 40 of the 64 passes thrown his way for 608 yards and five touchdowns.

The 6-foot-3, 194-pound wideout brings good size, though he is a bit thin, and a "smooth" route-running acumen to the Broncos offense. He'll fit in nicely with Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, and Marvin Mims Jr.

Now, if the Broncos could just take care of that pesky quarterback vacancy...
