While Denver Broncos' wide receiver room looks solid on paper, the coaching staff doesn't seem pleased. There have been trade rumors swirling around Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, while the Broncos were involved in discussions with multiple free-agent receivers.

So when it comes to the draft, it wouldn't be surprising if the Broncos used one of their five picks to add to the room.

Demario Douglas | WR | Liberty

Pros

  • He has great speed and explosion.
  • He has experience as a returner, where he did well.
  • He has done well catching the ball, with only eight drops over the last three seasons.
  • He does well to keep his route intentions from being predictable.
  • There is plenty of shifty movement and twitch to work well in space.
  • His ball tracking is excellent.

Cons

  • He is a small and light slot-only receiver.
  • Ball security is an issue, with six muffed punts in his career.
  • His routes are not crisp or clean with his cuts.
  • He needs to be more consistent with burst out of breaks for instant separation.

Fit with Broncos

Douglas could be an option if the Broncos want to take another shot on a smaller, shifty, and explosive receiver. He is projected to go somewhere on day three and also can provide additional competition as a returner on special teams.

Parker Washington | WR | Penn State

Pros

  • He has great instincts and does well to make himself open when the play breaks down.
  • While he is shorter than ideal, he has a great build on his frame.
  • He has excellent body control to adjust to the ball in the air.
  • He has a bigger catch radius than most receivers his size.
  • He is tough and unafraid when working over the middle of the field or preparing for contact.

Cons

  • He doesn't have ideal size, length, or athleticism.
  • He isn't overly sudden or twitchy with his movement.
  • There isn't that extra home-run gear to take it all the way or attack vertically.
  • His tempo with his routes isn't great, without variation of his tempo.
  • The lack of suddenness and burst can create issues separating.

Fit with Broncos

Washington isn't overly explosive, which is what the Broncos are looking for. He doesn't fit that archetype but can still work with the scheme. With his skill set, he can provide reliable depth, which the Broncos lack.

Rakim Jarrett | WR | Maryland

Pros

  • He has excellent long speed with good burst and explosion.
  • He is shifty with the ball in his hands and can make defenders miss.
  • He has the speed to blast by corners and attack vertically.
  • There is excellent footwork to get off strong press with ease.
  • He is tough and physical, willing to attack every level of the field.

Cons

  • He doesn't have the ideal size or length.
  • He dropped 14 catches over the last two seasons.
  • If he doesn't have space when the ball arrives, he will unlikely make the catch.
  • His route running is easy to read and handle for corners.

Fit with Broncos

There is good explosion and home run speed with Jarrett to fit the archetype the Broncos are looking for. However, his inconsistency in catching the ball could make it hard to go his way.

Tre Tucker | WR | Cincinnati

Pros

  • He has excellent long speed, burst, and explosion.
  • He has done well catching the ball, with eight drops over the last two seasons.
  • He is an explosive returner who shows good vision.
  • There is reliability in the screen game.
  • His vision is evident when he has the ball in his hands.
  • He has enough shiftiness with his movement to make defenders miss.
  • He is tough and physical, unafraid of contact.

Cons

  • He has an extremely small catch radius.
  • He is short, with short arms and a small frame.
  • Ball security is a concern, as he doesn't protect the ball well.
  • The lack of size makes it extremely easy to bully for defensive backs.
  • His lack of height can mean even if he gets in a good position; it is actually bad positioning.

Fit with Broncos

Tucker is an explosive receiver with good hands and a clear role as a gadget-type receiver. That explosiveness is what the Broncos are looking for, but they seem to want more size with it. If it gets later in the draft and they are still lacking, then maybe they could look at Tucker.

Kearis Jackson | WR | Georgia

Pros

  • He has solid size and a solid frame.
  • He is a smooth and clean route runner who understands the nuances.
  • There is toughness in his game, and he is unafraid of making the difficult catches over the middle.
  • He has experience as a returner.
  • He is physical and will fight as a blocker, with good technique.
  • There is great body control to adjust to the ball in the air and ensure he gets his feet down in bounds.

Cons

  • He has only been targeted 121 times with 78 catches over five seasons.
  • There isn't much there after the catch.
  • His burst and speed are not great.
  • He doesn't have great acceleration.
  • He can struggle to get separation, leading to more difficult catches than he has to.

Fit with Broncos

Kearis Jackson isn't an explosive receiver but a consistent and reliable route runner. He can be added competition among the depth receivers while also providing another piece to compete as a returner for the Broncos.

The draft class isn't great for wide receivers, but there is decent depth. With the Broncos not picking until the third round, they'll have to look into the depth of the class.
