The Denver Broncos' offensive line may be the biggest concern about the offense after one preseason game. It remains to be seen whether the O-line can do better in the second preseason game Saturday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

However, if concerns remain about the Broncos' O-line after that game, there are some veterans out there who may be able to help improve the depth.

One of them could be Jason Peters, who indicated to ESPN's Adam Schefter that he still wants to play after 19 seasons.

"Nine-time Pro Bowl OT Jason Peters, who is a free agent, said today he still plans to play this season in what would be his 20th NFL season. Peters started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent in 2004 in Buffalo," Schefter tweeted.

While Peters isn't someone to sign immediately, he should definitely be on the Broncos' list of veteran options should things not improve with the offensive line.

Peters played 10 games for the Dallas Cowboys last season with one start. He was originally added to the practice squad, elevated for one game, then added to the roster for good in October after injuries to other players.

Peters' last full season in the NFL was 2021 with the Chicago Bears, for whom he started 15 games. Before that, he spent the bulk of his career with the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles — the latter of which he emerged as one of the top left tackles in the NFL.

While Peters would be 41 years old, he was solid with his play last season. He could add more veteran experience to the Broncos' depth chart if things don't improve with the likes of Garett Bolles and Cameron Fleming.

Furthermore, having a longtime veteran like Peters on the roster could benefit the younger offensive tackles the Broncos are developing. Having somebody like him to learn from could be a good thing — perhaps even leading to coaching opportunities for Peters.

To be sure, Peters should not be signed to replace Bolles as the starter. If he were to be added, he needs to be a depth player who starts only if necessary.

The one thing to keep in mind with Bolles is that, if he is on the 53-man roster on Week 1, his entire $13.75 million salary becomes fully guaranteed. He has just $2M guaranteed right now.

That doesn't mean the Broncos need to cut Bolles right now. However, if he doesn't show better play in the preseason, the Broncos may have a tough decision to make — and if the team did decide to move Bolles, they would at least need another veteran for depth. Peters would fit the bill.

Again, a Peters signing shouldn't be a knee-jerk reaction. But if Peters is serious about playing this year, he's a player the Broncos should have on their radar if the offensive line situation doesn't improve.
