Watch: David Njoku Scores First Touchdown Of Season For Browns

In this story:
In the first full season with Deshaun Watson under center, there were some lofty expectations for Browns tight end David Njoku to have a breakout campaign.
With Watson in and out of the lineup however, with a rotator cuff injury that hasn't exactly come to fruition. The 2017 first-round pick entered Week 8 with just 24 receptions for 216 yards and not a single touchdown yet.
That changed on the Browns second series against Seattle.
Trailing 14-0 with 5:30 remaining in the first quarter, head coach Kevin Stefanski dialed up a masterful three-play touchdown drive, that ended with Njoku taking a short pass in the middle of the field 18 yards for the Browns first score of the game.

It was a beautifully designed play by Stefanski, as Njoku stayed home briefly to throw a momentary block, then darted toward the middle of the field on a delayed route. Njoku did the rest himself, fighting through two tackles and diving for the plane to get Cleveland on the board. Playing in his third game for the Browns at QB, it was also Walker's first TD pass of the season.
It's been an eventful season for Njoku despite this being the first time he found the end zone. Just days before the team's Week 4 matchup with Baltimore, Njoku suffered serious burns on his hands and face, trying to light a fire at his house. The incident left him understandably questionable for that weekend's game, but Njoku wound up pushing through and playing anyway.
It was a truly admirable decision by the 27-year-old, who led the team in passing for the game as well. Njoku missed some practices in the weeks that followed while receiving treatment for the burns, but hasn't missed a single game for the Browns this year.
