Injuries have been a dark cloud over the Cleveland Browns over the first seven weeks of the season. From Nick Chubb, to Deshaun Watson the Browns have had to embrace the "next man up" mentality for a while now.

After second-year running back Jerome Ford left last week's matchup against the Colts with an ankle sprain, it looked like another costly blow to the running back room, for at least a short period of time.

Ford missed the first two days of practice this week, but his status took a positive turn on Friday when he was limited at practice.

According to head coach Kevin Stefanski, Ford will be listed as questionable for the team's Week 8 meeting with the Seattle Seahawks.

"He practiced, he was limited so we'll see," Stefanski said. "With all those guys that are working through injuries, we'll watch the tape make determinations on how they look in 48 hours and see where it lands."

The "other guys" Stefanski eluded to are LT Jedrick Wills, WR Marquise Goodwin and LB Sione Takitki who will head into Sunday with the same "questionable" designation as Ford.

Ford exited last weekend's game in the fourth quarter after suffering the ankle injury and was unable to return. Initial reports indicated it was a high ankle sprain for the 2022 fifth-round pick and that he could miss one-to-two weeks. He certainly appears ahead of that reported timetable to be practicing, even in a limited capacity.

Since taking over as the Browns lead back following Chubb's season ending knee injury back in Week 2, Ford has held his own. The Cincinnati product has amassed 344 yards on 78 carries – good for a 4.4 yards per carry average – and has rushing two scores. He's added two additional touchdowns as a receiver and has 14 catches for 104 yards as well.
