Heisman Winning Quarterback Shows Approval for Buccaneers

Star USC quarterback, Caleb Williams, is heralded as the next 'superstar' quarterback to be drafted into the NFL and gave his approval to landing in Tampa Bay via Twitter.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have question marks surrounding what they intend to do with their quarterback position come the 2023-24 NFL season. They can look to add a veteran that can immediately come in and start or roll with the only quarterback currently on their roster in Kyle Trask.

At this point, however, it seems as if the coaching staff and the organization are content with rolling out Trask to be the team's starter this upcoming season. We haven't seen much from him, so it is hard to acknowledge what exactly will be expected from him if he does indeed start.

Report: Promising Quarterback Expected to Start for Buccaneers in 2023

Many fans take to social media to discuss their sports teams and what they want them to do in the future. As with any sports fans, Buccaneers fans took to social media wondering if they should "tank" this upcoming season to be able to address their quarterback situation next offseason in the form of heralded #1 overall pick USC QB Caleb Williams.

It's an intriguing speculative situation that the Buccaneers and their faithful find themselves thinking about, but not shortly after that tweet was sent, Caleb Williams himself liked the tweet ultimately showing his approval if he was indeed to make his way to Tampa Bay.

Out of high school, Caleb Williams was already thought of as one of the next great college football quarterbacks and he backed that up in his 2022 season with the Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans when he threw for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 66.6% of his passes skyrocketing himself into the perineal #1 draft spot in the 2024 NFL Draft.

His play last season has earned high praise from all-around and has even been compared to Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, for his playmaking ability and otherworldly arm angles on throws.

If Tampa Bay is serious about trying to nail the best quarterback in next year's draft they should look into doing so. However, the Bucs have never been a team to lay down and "tank", so I fully expect the team to give it their all next year regardless of the talk that is floating around social and media circles.
