Former Buccaneer Tom Brady Responds to Rumor of Him Returning to Play For Jets

In this story:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have entered their new era, and they've done it well. Baker Mayfield and Dave Canales have helped Todd Bowles re-invent the offense and play pressure-free football.
With the Buccaneers turning a new corner after Tom Brady's retirement, they've got their sights set on a fresh, youthful roster. Could a return to the NFL still be in the cards for Brady, though?
Over and over Brady has emphasized this past offseason that he's fully retired and has moved on to his post-playing activities. One of those things he added was the "Let's Go!" podcast with Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, where he talked about a return to the NFL -- and more particularly the New York Jets.

In Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down during his first drive with the team. Unfortunately, he suffered an achilles tear that would keep him out for the season.
The Jets now have a couple of options -- let Zach Wilson try to get the team to the playoffs as is or go sign a veteran quarterback to potentially use the roster built for Rodgers and compete with that.
Of course, given the nature of Brady's first retirement, the thought of him returning and competing with a high-level roster was put out there. Brady, though, responded to that rumor during his podcast.

"The question everybody has been wondering is -- have the Jets called and are you considering the Jets," Gray asked Brady on the podcast.
While not completely shutting down the rumor, it sounds far from a yes from Brady.
"Next question. You already know. I love being with you guys on Mondays and I love what we got going," Brady responded.
While this doesn't completely shut the door to anything, it appears Brady is going to continue his post-playing career journeys and continue building new things such as this show, eventually him in a broadcast booth and investing in sports.
