Clearly, Bowles is feeling the pressure after squandering Tom Brady's final year in the NFL. The team moved on from six assistant coaches and had three others retire shortly after the underwhelming campaign concluded.
Over the last couple of weeks, the Buccaneers have been exploring options and conducting interviews to find their next offensive coordinator.
On Tuesday, the franchise announced that it met with Seattle Seahawks quarterback coach Dave Canales at the AdventHealth Training Center for an in-person interview. Canales becomes the tenth candidate that Tampa Bay has interviewed since firing Byron Leftwich.

Canales has spent over a decade working with Seattle head coach Pete Caroll. He joined the Seahawks after one season as an assistant strength coach in 2009 for USC. Canales served as wide receivers coach from 2010-17 before taking over as quarterbacks coach in 2018-19. He was moved to passing game coordinator for Russell Wilson's final two seasons with the franchise (2020-21) before transitioning back to quarterbacks coach this past season.
The California native played a part in Geno Smith's breakout season in 2022. Smith led the NFL in completion percentage and threw 30 touchdown passes while earning the first Pro Bowl nomination of his career. The Seahawks finished 9-8 and qualified for the postseason as Smith completed 69.8% of his passes for 4,282 yards with 30 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He also added 366 yards and a score on the ground.
