In this story:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a less than thrilling performance on the offensive side of the ball this past Sunday in their 16-13 loss to the visiting Atlanta Falcons to bring their overall record to 3-3.

Even with the loss, things seemed positive from an injury standpoint as nothing immediately came out suggesting anything serious. However, following the Buccaneers' opening day of practice there were some names on the injury report that were surprising including start wideout Christ Godwin due to a neck injury.

Godwin never exited the contest against the Falcons and seemed to be just fine following the game when speaking with the media in the locker room, so this could just be precautionary as the Buccaneers face a short week prior to heading North to New York to take on the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football.

It will remain to be seen the extent of Godwin's neck injury until practice resumes on Tuesday and if Godwin is not able to go or is held out again head coach Todd Bowles should be able to give an update.

Godwin's season has been pretty pedestrian thus far into the season only compiling 33 receptions for 398 yards. The most glaring aspect of Godwin's 2023 season is that Baker Mayfield has yet to find him in the endzone. If Godwin's injury is not severe we should fully expect to see him suit up on Thursday and hopefully he can grab a touchdown for the first time this season.
