Arguably the greatest quarterback of all time and a perennial winner like the game has never seen before, Brady wants to do his part to improve football on and off the field.
Earlier this week, Brady and a contingent of well known-figures, including rapper Travis Scott and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin met with the top four quarterbacks selected In the 2023 NFL Draft.
Carolina's Bryce Young, Houston's CJ Stroud, Indianapolis' Anthony Richardson, and Tennessee's Will Levis sat down with the successful businessmen to learn about entrepreneurship and brand-building. Following the event, Brady took to social media to discuss the event, which took place in Los Angeles on the first day of NFLPA rookie events.
"Such a special day being able to speak with and learn from four young professional qbs. [Bryce Young], [CJ Stroud], [Anthony Richardson], [Will Levis]. I appreciate the invitation [Michael Rubin] and I think I had more fun than everyone there. One of my idols, [Steve Young] encouraged me always to “pay it forward”. Now that I’ve come to the end of my 23 year journey I am so excited to watch and help the next group reach their potential as athletes, as teammates, and men working to bring the best out of themselves and the communities they represent. We got to spend many hours, talking, learning, and discussing what it takes to be your best. In my opinion, hard work, and consistent discipline are two critical ingredients to that formula. I loved listening to and learning from [Travis Scott] about his amazing journey as well, and couldn’t be more amazed by his incredible accomplishments, as a musician, entrepreneur, creative visionary and artist in every sense of the word (not to mention a great guy.) Although my trip to Los Angeles was very quick, I look forward to the next time I see these guys take the field, using their amazing gifts as athletes to entertain us all and inspire us to keep going , and be our best for our families and our communities! Thanks again fellas! Until the next time."
A short video clip surfaced of Brady specifically talking to Will Levis and Bryce Young. A former sixth-round pick who went on to win seven Super Bowls while setting records in the process, he's able to provide a different perspective than a lot of other players.
Levis attended the NFL Draft and received a lot of attention from the broadcast while falling out of the first round. In the end, Tennessee swooped him up at No. 33 to add to a quarterback room that includes Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis.
"Going in the second round. In the end, that's not real that big of a deal," Brady said to Levis.
Brady then turned to Young, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers. The former Alabama has a lot of expectations on his shoulders.
"Going first overall in the end, it's not a big deal. It's great, you got an opportunity," Brady said to Young. "You're probably going to be paid more than anyone for a time period. But I was drafted 199 and I just outlasted everybody. There's another me back there, right? So how do I keep my edge on everybody? I had to keep working. I didn't go, 'Hey, I'm good. I won three Super Bowls, I'm good.'"
There's not a better former player to get advice from than Tom Brady. His work on and off the field speaks for itself and the superstar is just at the forefront of his post-playing career.
The four quarterbacks would be wise to heed the message from Brady as they prepare for their rookie seasons.
