In this story:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered week one of the NFL season as underdogs as they went on the road to face Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, and the Minnesota Vikings. The Bucs had a whole new offense and the product that came from that offense was still a question mark.

To start the game, the offense didn't seem to have improved at all from the one that struggled to find consistency last season. Fortunately for the Buccaneers things start to look up right before half as Baker Mayfield connected with Mike Evans for a TD.

The Buccaneers were finally able to put it all together in the second half to come away with a 20-17 road victory over the Vikings. A few plays stand out as turning points - McLaughlin's 57-yard fg that ended up being the game-winner, Chris Godwin's huge 3rd down grab that iced the game, and Mayfield's third-down run where he lowered his shoulder to gain the first down.

However, it was another play that is currently grasping the attention of those who pay close attention to the NFL. Mayfield took the snap and scrambled right on the play before meeting Byron Murphy Jr. who he then stiff-armed to pick up a few additional yards.

Then Baker being Baker ensued. The trash talk began and Baker once again showed his teammates and the world that he still has that swag and moxie to earn the respect of his peers and win the locker room in Tampa Bay.

"Get your weight up." Enough said.

Baker's tough run is not only earning him some more respect around the league and the Buccaneers' locker room, but it is also garnering the attention of those who cover the NFL as his angry stiff arm run earned Good Morning Football's Angry Runs award presented by Kyle Brandt - an award that was also won by Bucs' RB Rachaad White last season against the Seattle Seahawks.

With game one underneath him, things can only start to get sharper for Mayfield as he gets more comfortable in OC Dave Canales' offense.
