Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins Named Most Likely Player to be Traded During NFL Draft
It feels as if it's only a matter of time before the Arizona Cardinals send WR DeAndre Hopkins to his new home.
Where exactly that is remains to be seen, but there's no questioning the two sides are committed to a 2023 and beyond without Hopkins on the grass at State Farm Stadium.
The Cardinals initially placed Hopkins on the trade block back in the early days of the offseason but have yet to find a trade partner. Various reports have suggested the Cardinals are asking far too much (a second-round pick and something else of value) and are scaring off teams trying to do business.
Recently, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported some teams around the league expect the Cardinals to ultimately release Hopkins due to his market being nowhere near what Arizona wants.
For good reason, the Cardinals would be wise to squeeze something out of Hopkins rather than allowing him to walk for free.
Could they maximize his value during the 2023 NFL Draft? Bleacher Report sure thinks so. Hopkins was the No. 1 player on their list of five most likely NFL players to be traded during the upcoming draft.

After beating out names such as Jerry Jeudy, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Allen Robinson and Austin Ekeler, Hopkins grabbed the crown for good reasoning.
"Regardless of how it gets done, there's strong reason to believe the veteran receiver will be on another team before the 2023 draft concludes," said Alex Kay.
"Given the Cardinals will be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray for potentially up to half the campaign as he rehabilitates from a torn ACL, they should be motivated to move Hopkins in exchange for draft assets they can use to build a competitive 2024 roster."
