Cardinals WR Marquise Brown Labeled Prime Trade Candidate

Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown is a top candidate to be traded according to Bleacher Report.

The Arizona Cardinals are a team expected to occupy the basement of NFL standings through the 2023 season, making them an easy target for speculation on the trade block.

The Cardinals have already been fairly active in that regard, moving pieces such as Josh Jones and Isaiah Simmons while also acquiring Josh Dobbs - all towards the end of the preseason.

Arizona has clearly shown they're willing to part ways with a player who doesn't fit in the future plans, and B/R believes WR Marquise Brown is a prime trade candidate:

Bleacher Report Says Marquise Brown is Prime Trade Candidate

Marquise Brown

Kristopher Knox: "Brown is scheduled to be a free agent in 2024, and if Arizona is looking to replace Murray, trading the 26-year-old receiver now could make a lot of sense.

"The 49ers might be willing to take a flier on the speedy former first-round pick. They have a strong receiving corps headlined by Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, but they're also eying a Super Bowl and lead the league in cap space following Bosa's new deal and Arik Armstead's restructure.

"Adding a deep threat like Brown to the San Francisco offense would open up more options for Kyle Shanahan. The question is whether Arizona would be willing to help a division rival.

"The Detroit Lions might also want to consider Brown. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a star No. 1 receiver, but the team lacks speed in the passing game.

"After beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, Detroit has arrived as a title contender, and it should be willing to go all-in on 2023.

"Potential Landing Spots: Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers"

It's hard to imagine Brown being traded to a division rival, though we have seen similar deals in the past.

With Brown in the final year of his deal, rookie Michael Wilson waiting behind him and the potential to grab another top-tier WR talent in the 2024 NFL Draft, perhaps it's not too far-fetched to believe Brown could be on the move if the right offer comes along.

Brown ranked No. 7 on their trade big board. The entire top ten is as follows:

  1. Chase Young
  2. Mike Evans
  3. Derrick Henry
  4. Derek Barnett
  5. Danielle Hunter
  6. Jonathan Taylor
  7. Marquise Brown
  8. Ryan Tannehill
  9. Tee Higgins
  10. D'Andre Swift

Last week, Brown reeled in three receptions for 28 yards.
